Tips For Selling Your Home In 2021
2021 is right around the corner and there’s never been a better time than right now to start thinking about getting your home ready for sale next year.
In this article, I’ll offer you several tips that you can do to start preparing your house right now to get it ready to list on the MLS and sold in the coming year.
Tip #1 – Declutter Your Home
De-cluttering your home is by far one of the most important things that you can do to get your house ready for sale.
When you declutter, it’s best to create piles of the things that you want to keep, save for later, or throw away.
Obviously, you’re going to need a place to put the items that you want to keep, so it’s best to have a box ready.
Once you have boxes that are filled with items, and taped up, the next thing that you want to do is place those boxes neatly in your garage, or in a nearby storage facility.
Tip #2 – Paint Your Home
After decluttering your house, the next thing that you want to do is paint the interior and exterior of your home.
The key to success with choosing paint for your home is to opt for a neutral color. This means that you want to choose either a grey, beige, off white or soft color for either the interior or exterior of your home.
If you’re not familiar with how to choose paint colors, one of the best things that you should do is do some research online to find out what the top neutral paint colors are for homes in 2020.
Tip #3 – Fix The Damaged Parts Of Your Home
After you paint your house, the next thing that you need to do is focus on repairing the damaged areas of your home that you may have been putting off repairing for the last couple years.
Sadly, some of the areas in your home that need to be repaired could be parts of your home that you don’t see everyday like a squeaky bathroom door, a light bulb in the closet that needs to be replaced, for a leaky faucet.
You may be thinking “why do I have to replace all these things? Why can I sell my home as is?” The reason why you want to start making the repairs to your home now is because if you neglect these areas, when the buyer finds them, they’re going to wonder what else is wrong with your home?
