Are you planning on selling your Austin Texas home this summer? If so, you come to the right place!
Now is the perfect time for you to start getting your Austin home ready for sale because you still have at least two months before you list it on estate market so there’s plenty of time for you to start tackling some projects around your house and getting it in Tip-Top condition so that we can list it on the multiple listing service for you.
What are the projects that you should be doing?
If it’s been a while since you did any work around your house, here’s a breakdown of some of the projects that you should be doing to get it ready for sale
curb appeal – This is by far one of the most important things that you should be focusing on doing right now because, how your home looks on the outside is going to impact the impression that people have of it when they drive up and view it for the first time.
If your home looks scary, a potential buyer may not want to come in and investigate it further, regardless it has granite countertops in the kitchen or not.
Paint – Painting your home is another important thing that you should be focusing on doing right now. If it’s been a while since you painted your home on the outside, you should start there first by painting the exterior of your home.
After painting the outside of your home, you should focus on painting inside. Ideally, the walls on the inside of your home should be painted with neutral colors because your goal as a homeowner is to influence people when they walk into the door so that they can see themselves living in your home, instead of looking at your home and being distracted by your decorating choices.
Declutter – Another important thing that you should be focusing on doing right now is decluttering your home. This is important because it doesn’t matter if someone has lived in their home for one year, or 50 Years, everybody accumulates their fair share of clutter when they live in a home.
Start going through each room of your home inch by inch removing anything that you haven’t used within that least last 60 days. If you’re the type of person who doesn’t like to get rid of stuff, you can box up the things that you’re no longer using and put them in your garage or, you could rent a storage unit at a local facility and store all of your excess stuff there.
Staging – Last of all, but most important, after you’ve taken the time to focus on curb appeal, painting and decluttering your home, the next thing that you should focus on doing is staging it. Staging your home means that you focus on placing a minimal amount of furniture in each room of your home so that the rooms in your home look lived-in while you emphasize the amount of space that the rooms in your home have to offer at the same time.
