Austin Texas Real Estate Market – Fall 2019 Update
It’s hard to believe that fall is almost here and another year is getting close to wrapping up!
In spite of the up and down nature of the stock market and the economy, the real estate market has remained steady and continues to be one of the best investments.
If you’ve been thinking about buying, selling, or are curious about how the real estate market is doing, this e-newsletter will provide you with information on the real estate market.
Interest Rates
As of September 12, 2019, the current interest rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage loan is about 4% depending on the mortgage company that you choose. Rates are expected to stay low through the remainder of 2019 and possibly during 2020 as well since we will be in an election year and the President is eager to do anything, he can to stimulate the economy.
Quick Market Update
The Austin Texas real estate market continues to see steady growth as prices here have risen by 6% in the past year and many economists feel that it’s going to rise by another 3% next year as well.
Right now, the median home price in Austin is $371,900, a steal compared to other high-priced states like New York and California.
It’s not just that Austin has been in the news lately as one of the best cities in the United States for real estate, other towns close to Austin are also getting a lot of coverage too including Cedar Park.
Located a mere 17 miles from downtown Austin, it remains among the fastest-growing municipalities in the country, thanks in large part to an economy anchored by Dana Company, National Oilwell Varco, and high-tech companies like Firefly Space Systems and Fallbrook Technologies.
You will also find an affordable median home price in Cedar Park of $290,600 so if you’re in the mood to live near the big city but also have a small-town feel then you may want to consider Cedar Park.
